About ASIS Chapter 315

ASIS is the world’s largest and best recognised security association with 34,000 members, made up of security professionals from around the globe.

Founded in 1955, ASIS is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programmes and materials that address broad security interests such as the ASIS Annual GSX+ Seminar and Exhibits as well as specific security topics. 

Due to the hard work of some pioneering members of ASIS in Ghana, led by the formidable team from Newmont Ghana Ltd, ASIS Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, in late 2011, gave approval for the formation of the Ghana Chapter of ASIS, the second country in West Africa after Nigeria.

On the 6th of July 2012 Ghana Chapter (Chapter 278) was formally inaugurated at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra and there has been no turning back since then.

By dint of hard work of the pioneering executives and the successive executives of Chapter 278 led by our ARVP Capt. Joe Awuni, approval was given in 2019 for the formation of Chapter 314, Kumasi and 315, Takoradi.

On the 29th of December 2020 Chapter 315, Takoradi was formally inaugurated online. The inauguration was conducted by the ARVP Capt Joe Awuni and in attendance was the ASIS International President Godfried Hendricks, CPP, SRVP for Region 11A Musa Balogun, CPP,PCI,PSP and Mr. Ahmed Zakariah as the Special Guest of Honour.

Takoradi is a twin city with Sekondi and is the capital city of the Western Region with a rich history of cultural diversity and an equally diversified natural resources. Unofficially it is known as the “Oil City” because it is the center of the oil industry in Ghana.

Chapter 315 covers two additional regions of the country namely the Central and Western North.
